Every year since 1945, Ottawa holds a huge Tulip Festival.
Every May, the Dutch Royal family sends Ottawa a present of 500,000 Tulips in gratitude of Canada’s having sheltered Princess Juliana and her family during the time of war.
Beautiful Tulips are in bloom all over this peaceful and picturesque city. It is a wonderful time to take pictures, and enjoy the great outdoors.
We will begin the day at Rideau Hall. We will view The Governor General’s Residence, then see the ceremonial trees which dot the landscape.
After that, we will follow the Rideau Canal all the way to Dow’s Lake for Tulip viewing. We will have plenty of time to stop and smell the Tulips!
Then we will have a walking tour of the City of Ottawa with our Tour Guide. We will see The Canadian Parliament, Major’s Hill Park, The Byward Market, and we will finish it off with a Beaver Tail. It is the quintessential visit of Ottawa.
This is a special event in Ottawa. Don’t miss out everyone! 🙂
